Blobs including patterns like Chartreuse Blob have become a mainstay of UK stillwater fly fishing, love them or hate them! Effective on stocked fisheries Chartreuse Blob can be used suspended below an indicator or bung. Chartreuse Blob also are able to be fished with floatant 'bottom-up', use a short leader (often as little as 2 or 3 feet) on a sinking line. A short retrieve of the Chartreuse Blob will cause it to dive when retrieve then raise again in the water. Best fished dlow but occassional sharp figure of 8 retrieves can trigger trout attacks.
Key to fishing blobs is to learn the 'hang' suspending a static or extremely slow moving blob which can work with spooky or fish that are under heavy fishing pressure.
