Thursday, 25 October 2007 | Admin
We have now released a new range of tube flies. This new range to The Essential Fly is very exciting. Tube flies last so much longer as typically they do not stick in the salmon's mouth and get chewed, additionally with tube flies you can choose hooks that are right for your water, sometimes singles or doubles only are permitted, other times of course you can use whatever size and type of treble hook you like. Pot Bellied Pigs and Salmon Tube flies do not come supplied with a treble hook
Copper Tube Salmon Flies
Copped tubed salmon flies are great in faster, deeper salmon waters. The copper tube helps the fly get deeper in those salmon runs and pools where those big salmon are hidden. We have range which is growing weekly, if we don't have what you want then contact us, maybe we will take the fly on or check out our bespoke manufacturing service for that unique fly.
Nylon Salmon Tube Flies
Nylon salmon flies are ligher weight, ideal for those shallow pools or skating on the surface to provoke those aggressive salmon takes.
Pot Bellied Pigs (PBP)
Pot Belly Pigs, which are now used by guides in iceland Norway, Sweden, Patagonia & Russia. Pot bellied pigs are available in Coper or Nylon tube variants and come in 3/4" to 2" flies. Pot bellied pigs are incredible mimics of shrimps, often using boar bristles to imitate shrimps. Gillies always have their own secret fly for use in the most dire of circumstances, 90% of the time they will be an imitation of a shrimp.
