Our mylar is just 1.6mm diameter. Wrap around the hook or pull over the hook shank leaving the end strands split apart to look like a tail. You could you use a few strands of marabou on the hook shank then pull the Mylar Cord (1.6mm) Pearlescent over as a body for great effects producing flies like deadly sand eels.
