Nano Silk 50D 12/0 Black is fine enough for size 16 to 32 flies whilst still retaining its strength. Although Nano Silk 50D 12/0 Black is a fine thread it can be split down further if required so dubbing making dubbing much easier!
Nano Silk 50D 12/0 Black is designed for flies sizes 8 to 16, the ideal for most fly tyers. However do not be fooled because of Nano 50D thin diameter, Nano Silk 50D 12/0 Black is stronger than 6/0 polyester thread yet is less than 1/20th of the diameter. As a result it can be used for any fly where you do not want to see your thread.
Because Nano Silk lays perfectly flat you get no thread build up. Indeed check out our Youtube video where we put 100 wraps on a hook and still had no head buildup!

Pro Tips:
1 - rotate anti-clockwise to untwist and lay perfectly flat. With just 2 or 3 light wraps of Nano Silk over foam you can then tighten and tie in foams or materials that would cut easily.
2, use white Nano Silk and simply colour the last 4 inches (100mm) of thread for heads in a visible colour

Its certainly strong but not the easiest stuff to work with. Splits very easily and very slippery. Difficult to cut cleanly. Will persevere though cos the strength is a big advantage.
Response:
You might find using some wax helpful and adding some extra twists if it is untwisting too easily for yourself. Best option to cut it is with a razer blade or craft knife. It is deffinatly worth it so keep perservering.

very thin thread and very very strong do not try and break this with bare hands the finest thread I have used the only thread to use on very small patterns with even finer Nano thread available for the very small patterns good range of colours this thread will suit the majority of tyers

I have been a fly tying for a few decades now and been using nano silk since I met Mick and the family at Burton on Trent fly festival. I like to see/ touch materials I buy especially feathers and capes, with nano silk it's manufactured consistently to a high standard.its takes a little while to adapt to the silks strength and thickness when you first offer it to the hook but once you mastered this well small flies just keep rolling of the vice. Also getting used to the amount of tension to apply because you can cut through some materials. All in all very good tying thread Tring to reduce stocks of other brand as a result.

Pity they didn't have GSP forty years ago. Almost gave up tying due to being too heavy handed. I don't break this silk, but I'v bent a few hooks.

This thread is excellent !. Ultra strong, I can use less of it and still have secure tyings, it makes for a more durable fly. It gives me confidence in my tying, knowing it's unlikely to break which lets me be more creative !. Could this be the ultimate thread ?. Thank you.
