Metz Cock Magnum Necks and Saddles
Neck feathers are finer than those found on a saddle, as such -
Neck feathers will most commonly be used for smaller flies.
Saddle feathers will most commonly be used for larger flies.
Grade 1 products are incredibly rare, since the fashion industry enjoyed their "feather boom" of and around 2012. As such, many breeders only supply grade 2 and 3 items now (correct as of July 2016) whilst they manage the growth and quality of their birds, with respect to multiple industries' demands.
Grade 1 would be a near flawless item.
Grade 2 features some imperfections, though is still a very good quality item.
Grade 3 features more imperfections than a grade 2, and would be classed as a good quality item.
Note that some variance for personal interpretation of these grades should be given consideration, the manufacturers grading decision is final. Further, as of July 2016, the Cock Magnum Necks & Saddles are only available in Grade 2.
