Third Prize in Round 4 of The FlyTying Masters - Squireel Nutkin by Ryan Houston. Ryan tells us that the idea behind the zonker hackle is mobility. This fly will work pulled hard or slow as it can imitate fry or insects or because of the mobility of the fur it can be fished static and will imitate all kinds of buggy things especially sedge pupae. Designed predominantly for browns there are enough triggers there for rainbows too.
Gold Grubber though our version is tied with our own hooks
