William's Favourite North Country Spider

The William's Favourite is a great traditional northen spider. 

The William's Favourite North Country Spider was devised by the father of A. Courtney Williams, the author of A Dictionary of Trout Flies. William's Favourite was fished by him for most of his sixty years as a fly fisher and accounted for many trout & sea trout. If you change the fly and add a tail of golden
pheasant crest fibberts William's Favourite becomes the well known Black Pennel. This fly fishes well all season. William's Favourite also works well on stillwaters too, either fished slow just sub-surface or deeper, retrieved in a fairly fast “figure-of-eight.”
