Major Traherne's Dressed Salmon Flies

Major John Popkin Traherne (Aug. 28, 1826 - Jan. 28, 1901) served in the army, reaching the rank of Major, and retiring in 1865. He was probably the most gifted Salmon Fly Tyers of the nineteenth century.

At the World Exhibition in London in 1833, Major Traherne won the title with a box of 18 of his salmon flies. These are full reproductions of his flies.
