Golden Pheasant Fly Tying Feathers

The stunning coloured heads of the Golden Pheasant are used to form wings and tails on Salmon, Sea Trout and Trout flies. You will find the Golden Pheasant feathers in flies like the Black Pennell, Peter Ross and Dunkeld where a fly tyer will use the tippet feather for the tail. Crest feathers of the Golden Pheasant are used to tail flies like the Kate McLaren and Silver Invicta. Salmon flies like the Blue Charm, Green Highlander and Dunkeld use the topping feather in their wings. Dyed Golden Pheasant is essential for many traditional and modern patterns where a fly tyer will  try them on wet flies to make them stand out.
