Gink - The World's Best Fly Dressing - Floatant

Gink - George Gehrkes Gink was an instant hit with fly fishermen when it was released in the 90's. It is considered the best fly floatant available in the world.

A very popular long lasting silicone gel fly floatant. Gink fly floatant is temperature sensitive and works best at body temperature hence always squeeze a drop onto your forefinger and make it more fluid by rubbing against your thumb. Wipe the liquefied floatant onto the hackles, tail and wings or even the body of your fly. Please use sparingly for best results with Gink fly floatant.

Can darken some colors slightly if used too heavily - however for a good fisherman this can be used to your advantage when matching some hatches.

Floats Dry Flies like a cork! The best selling fly floatant in the U.K. It does not cake hackles and easy to apply.

Purchased this fly patterns with a number of others and they arrived in Sydney really neatly boxed in great condition only 10 days after I purchased! Will definitely be restocking my fly box with flies from The Essential Fly! Tight lines. Leon

Gink does what it says

I used this for the first time with a team of flies with just the top dropper floating. The single treated fly stayed afloat excellently with the other two flies suspended below. So the treated fly acted perfectly like a float for the others. I was fishing a loch with a fair wave so again the conditions were demanding. I think that is about as demanding a task for a floatant as you can get.
The substance certainly is easiest used once warmed a bit. Air temperature was about 10 C when I used it and it was almost a solid. Might be tempted to keep it in an inside pocket on cooler days in the future.
