The philosphy at wychwood is to create innovative products that offer the best specification available for the price. All of their products are designed in Redditch, England by British designers to meet the demands of the British game angler. They use inspiration from outside the tackle industry when creating any product, allowing them to create special and different products, standing out from the competition. The products are individually tested by experts in the field, then refined until the design and specification have acheived exactly what they set out to do.

The aura rod range has been specifically designed to suit the British stillwater fly anglers needs. Through extensive research we have found that the demands and functions of a rod change depending on its length and line rating. A 10’ #8 rod is not fished using the same techniques and methods as a 9’ #5 rod. A 10’ rod more than often is used to cast long distances with lures or teams of flies, whereas the 9’ rod is used for a more delicate and accurate approach with small natural imitations. Wychwood felt that each rod action requires subtle differences between one another to achieve the performance required for these different fishing methods. Hence each Aura is specifically designed.
