Damsel Nymph Haines Variant
Damsel Nymph Haines Variant. 2nd Place in the Fly Tying Masters Round 1
The colours and the blending on this fly are very good indeed. At this time of the year the mature damsel’s are on the go, however by changing the body colours to suit you can go through all the different instars. N.W. Haines has used an extend tail and with good reason, it looks good and allows movement. The Grizzle marabou used in the tying brings more to the pattern than just a single straightforward colour too. By adding some weight at the head - in shape of a goldbead – this pattern will have the elusive duck and dive movement that trout seem to love.
