Elk Hair Caddis Brown

The Elk Hair Caddis Brown developed by Al Trout was originally used in the American Northwest with a great deal of success and is now used world-wide. This is a superb imitation of an adult caddis fly which rather than imitate a particular species of caddis uses a roof wing profile to mimic a whole range of medium to small brown caddis flies. The wing is made of Elk hair which is tough but retains good buoyancy.

found this website by accident but it is now in my favourites. Great service
and great product. It had been a tricky day at my local still water due to the sun. I turn up at 2pm put on my new brown sedge and 2 fish in 4 casts. Was not a popular person : )

Topped up my stock of this excellent fly when planning a one-off visit to Lechlade trout fishery in Glos. The day was clear, bright and very very windy not the best conditions! However, using the fly in conjunction with hatching sedge and shipman's orange buzzer managed to contact six large rainbows in the space of four hour's fishing. Unfortunately only landed one but a very exciting day out. Many thanks.
