July Catch Report - Earith Lakes Cambridgeshire

The sudden hot weather during July has slowed fished down, with the water temperature increasing and oxygen levels falling fish are simply not feeding.  The cold rain water has helped and there are plenty of fish showing ready to bite as the sun is covered and wind picks up.

Best Fly patterns being black / white and olive buzzers, emergers and diawl bachs, daddy, F fly and klinkhammer on the surface. Cats whisker, damsel and Green and Black have worked in the deeper water during hot still conditions.

A number of anglers have reported 5 fish plus catches throughout the month with several 4lb+ fish being caught. Evening rises have been occurring however it is hard to identify what the fish are chasing. There are plenty of Browns in the reeds and general margin areas.

Anglers:181 Caught:438 Returned:260 Catch Ratio:2.4
